When a child enters the foster care system because of his or her home is no longer safe. A judge may appoint a committed volunteer to help them. That volunteer is called a court appointed special advocate or a CASA. CASA programs are non profit organizations that recruit, train and support volunteers to advocate for the best interests of an abused and neglected child in foster care. CASA volunteers help guide these children through the foster care system and to safe permanent homes.
